I went down past Sunnyside last night after throwing plugs all night as high up in tidal waters as you can if you know what I mean, nothing up high but seen one guy land a huge Shad. down farther I threw chunks and caught a few catties, 1 of them being 11 lbs and 1 big freakin eel! I think I had a cow on for minute as my bait runner screamed for a minute but grabbed and yanked and missed. It was either that or the mother of all catfish there, or maybe a carp? _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Fished the Shelton side of the dam for about three hours last night - last three hours of the incoming tide. Right time, right tide, no fish. Also the dam was scheduled to open but never did. There were about a dozen or so folks who fished the area at the same time, all the same - no fish, no strikes. |

What time did you leave? I left around 7:40 and the water was supposed to open at 8 but I was exhausted. My friend stayed til like 8:40 and as he was a leaving he said a regular caught a 39" and another down stream caught a 37" and then they opened the water a little after 9. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

We must have been there at the same time. I left just after 8:00. I think you were there when I arrived and I was just downstream from you. |

Good luck with all those fish. I generally avoid that area on the weekend. gets a bit crowded. Let us know how you do. |

Yeah, way to crowded and somehow screwed up the eye tip on one pole. Packed up and left after a couple of casts. Quite a few were caught earlier before I got there from a friend a few other guys but the bite shut off about an hour before we even got there. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

If nothing much is going on at the dam, then I'd try casting just to the right of where the Naugy and Housy meet at the southern tip of O'Sullivans. |

Todays trip went Ok. Hers a 19lb 4 ounce 37"er caught on a Rapala Super Shad in natural Shiner. Pulling the trebles out of her and she thrashed which proceeded to bury a treble right into the nice flesh of my palm! Took me about 15 minutes to get it out of my hand! Those VMC barbs are brutal!!!! Ouchie!!!!!!
Im so glad I switched line from 20lb mono to 40 lb SuperSlick Power Pro as this fish was caught down river from a Dam a bit in the heavy current as they had the flood gates open and there is no way in hell the 20 lb would have held up, that fish headed right down stream and when I wouldnt let her go any further she went deep and felt her rubbing the bottom to try and get that lure out.
I only got 1 more love tap after that but missed it _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....
