well, I hope it was floatable and prosthetic - haha Very Happy - thx for the update...I've been fishing that spot since I was young with my father (caswell cove) and it's like going back in time whenever I visit there....always loved fishing that spot.

I remember last year when I went there for the first time to try for some bluefish...no one around - crack of dawn....threw out a popper at mid-tide - BAM!....First cast and fish on....10 lb. bluefish ....I gaffed it and lifted it up in the air to show my father....I'm sure he was so proud (sorry, had to share that Smile

I'm sure the action will be early this year and that was the purpose of my inquiry...thx dude!

update....

Report for the Housatonic River from:
http://www.onthewater.com/forecasts/connecticut-and-rhode-island-fishing-report-292012/ (AS OF FEBURARY 9, 2012)

In tidal waters, the Housatonic River holdover striper bite shined this past week with the mild winter weather. Chris of Stratford Bait and Tackle said that the Shelton area is where to be with soft-plastic baits on jig heads or Alabama rigs. He also noted that Bond’s Dock, closer to the mouth of the river, is still producing sea herring for those bouncing Sabiki rigs. Nick at Fisherman’s World also had good things to say about the lower Housatonic. One of his customers, Luke Tucciarone, landed a few keeper striped bass on the hot Alabama rig, including one that went 36-inches!

Then I must be part of the idiot club because I've been a shore angler all my life - lol

That website didn't state if they were in boats or not, but more than likely they were, but there were plenty of times that I faired better fishing from shore than those fishing from a boat!

Next week I may decide to hit Caswell Cove and give it a few casts...

Let next week change your mind - head out next week on a decent day...not sure what day I'll head out, but I think next week may yield more hope for tight lines...

dumb and stubborn go hand in hand, but it's the dumb fisherman that doesn't make the decision to do it - LOL!

The warm winter we've had has had a statewide and ocean effect on fishing this year....fish are more active...they're going to spawn sooner and they're growing larger than "normal".

Let's see what next week holds...ol' stubborn one! Smile

You guys were reading my mind! I've been itching to go white perch fishing. Gotta get my dad to register the boat and get the gear set. Laughing

Herring in late February? That's madness!
