| Before I make the 1 hour trip to CTR, I was wondering if a trolling motor is good enough to launch and land at the same site or if i am gonna have to make a float trip out of it. I dont wanna drive that far to be disappointed so i appreciate any inputs. Thanks fellas (and ladies) |

Unless your going to get into the coves, wouldn't recommend just a trolling motor. The current can def push you hard at times. With a 40lb thrust (think that's what you said you had) you will be battling against the current going nowhere.

The Connecticut River at Haddam Meadows normally flows fairly gently. But if it's running high, the tide is going out or there's a decent north wind, it could become too much for a 12 volt trolling motor to handle.
