Ya got some monsters in there. I was up at Red Cedar today in it had basically no ice only a skim, But then I get home and saw the picture in the paper of Pachaug. I was pissed because I could have just went 10 mins more north and checked it today, but after seeing Red Cedar I thought there was no Point. Know anywhere to get bait near Pachaug?

I usually get bait locally the night before. I go to franks in Marlborough most often. But I'm pretty sure their is a bait shop not far from pachaug.

Went today and there were people on the lake but I couldn't find a way on from the boat launch. 6 feet of very thin ice around the whole edge that a walked. Beach pond had 3 inches so that is close.

Thanks for the report. I hope I can get out mid week. we hit savins pond in Lebanon today. We landed a dozen perch, nothing crazy in size, and one pickerel. Sill a fun day chasing flags.

What kind of bait are you using that's getting small perch? Small shiners?

Small shiners were getting nailed. Rarely set the hook. We switched to a little larger baits after a while to see if anything else was around. No luck

Savin pond the one right near Red Cedar? How much ice? And where do you park there I could never figure it out.

Also strange because Red Cedar has barely any ice. Maybe a lot of current in Red Cedar?

savins pond is right down the road from red cedar. We park on norwich ave in the few spots on the side of the road. their is a small trail head with a small fence with a garbage bag always tied to the railing. we had a solid 7 inches of black ice.

Just to address a question earlier in this thread, there is a bait shop about 5 min past Pachaug heading towards RI in Voluntown. The shops name is Mike's Bait and Tackle

Ya thanks that's where I went they have great bait there compared to the tiny barely alive ones my shop has. These were big and healthy for the same price.
