A fishing buddy told me while he and another were on a boat Friday coming from blackfishing in Middleground and heading towards Bridgeport, they saw birds working. They trolled their diamond jigs and caught a bunch of stripers with 1 being 32".

Where's the fishing police when you need em? Fish finder pulled his own drag like 3 times when i was turned away. There's gotta be a fine for that.

Apparently having a sense of humor isn't allowed on this board, as my account was deleted!

humor is fine, but not when all your posts are "humor" and nothing else informative or productive.

Kind of lame, I thought your stuff was pretty funny! Even if someone is taking your idea and slandering me!!! Crest Daddy, ummmhum LOL IMO as long as your not beating the crap out of person specifically and still not producing a little helpful insight and dont see a problem.

So let me get this straight. I post up 3 funny post as my first posts, and instead of PM'ing me or something else, you straight up delete my account?

So sorry I'm not all that inclined to give away 20 yrs of fishing secrets in my first 3 posts on this board, but I wanted to get a feel for the community here before I put up anything good.

Too bad that will never happen now. I won't share my winter sea run fishing, or my winter plug building.

Sorry CrestDaddy, I tried...............................

- Is it a kayak? is a dave? no! its a kayak dave!

Cm on, don't punish all of us for 1 mans mistake! I hate that, my freaking boss screams at all of us because of the same idiot all the time and like that movie " A few good men" we feel like giving him a "code red"!

What was your username? Didn't see anything offensive in this thread. Back to the topic.... Haven't fished the Housie at all this season. Are you guys still fishing lower down or have the fish mostly moved up? I haven't had the consistent pike action on the CT River, so I'm thinking a change of venue might be in order. Coves may be freezing soon anyway.

RNA, It's been hit or miss at all locations. Just have to bounce around!

Don't give up TFP, must be a mistake. CD has a legitimate complaint if he was assaulted by 3 unauthorized false drag alarms and will need someone to police that situation! It's a sad day indeed when passing ruffians can go about false dragging at will in front of cold desperate anglers. Very Happy

Great story, I believe in Saltwater Sportsman, a year or so ago about a false drag alarm. Guy was fishing with his buddy at night. When his friend dozed off, he pulled the line and started yelling. His friend woke up startled, lunged for the rod and went right over the stern or their boat. Pitch black, ripping current, and no life jacket. The initiator fortunately located his friend, who believed for the next twenty years that his life had been saved when he had gone into the drink after a fish hit his line. Twenty years and a few beers, and the culprit owned up! Moral of the story? Make sure you're surf fishing and not in a boat at night when you mess with your fishing partner Very Happy

Lol, I'm not messing around. I have a habit of reeling in too far and with a long leader the terminal tackle always ends up inside my rod eye so I use my bait feeder option to pull out a little line so I can get the bail in the right spot to cast. My eyes aren't what they used to be and despite trying to listen for when the plug or bucktails leaves the water I never hear or see and reel in too far. Sorry CD, I know I must do this 100 times a night!!!¡

3 posts on different topics were telling fishermen fishing laws they had to obey that don't even exist, even if it had to do with me using a 4 inch Rapala for saltwater fishing.

The laws actually DO exist as an unwritten code some of us live by. Violations are usually paid off with tokens of good luck such as Toblerone or yogurt or pointing out a shooting star to the victim of the crime.

I sympathize FF, it can be difficult to see your retrieve in darkness, and some plugs are so light that feeling how close they are is a guessing game sometimes. I used to adjust my leader the same way. I am pretty much in the habit now of opening my bail after every retrieve not only to clear up a stuck swivel, but to optimize my next cast. I let it drop and splash, check for hook tangles, crank and a half and good to go.
I think this method developed as I didn't want to take any more c**p from the gallery. Never bought anyone a yogurt though...bad bad luck!
