Congrats on getting a keeper. Was tough last night casting with the wind. I got a few kerpers, nothing to bother taking pics as they were barely keepers. I caught 1 andh thought I had a monster but it turned out to be just under keeper with a 3' branch wrapped up in my line about 3" in diameter. LOL

Some nice keepers there Michael and Fivestring! Those get tough to find by now. Wish I lived close enough to get in some weeknight fishing.

Appreciate it GK. Nice keeper. I have to be at work weekdays by 6:45-7:00am, so too many late week nights aren't in the cards. Don't know what hours you typically fish, or what the flow times are. I have been known to pull the occasional all nighter, as long as I could get home and shower. Don't really want to have to teach class smelling like fish. Very Happy I may take you up on it at some point. Would be fun. I'm kind of off 691 so if you're coming down from Hartford meeting would be easy. I don't mind driving either. I'm off to upstate NY tomorrow afternoon, hopefully to catch a few more steelhead and browns!

I killed last night and again tonight. Last night was real tough with the wind and had to keep the rod low on casts and let the river take the slack out to swim the lure properly as Im fishing across stream and not down in my spot. Got a few keepers then but nothing great. Tonight I was getting a lot of freeze ups on my rod eyes as I ran out of Reel Magic and its time to switch or at least carry my mono reel in emergency. Tonight I caught 3 keepers. 1 was barely over 28" another was 32" on second cast and the 1 that sent me home like a little school girl crying was a 33" that I foul hooked and it fought like a SOAB! I have a bad back and usually take a few pills before I head out and keep 1 or 2 on meif my back starts really acting up. Well I left the house without taking any and left them home to boot and that fish tore the crap out of me. Besides the 51"er I caught on the boat this thing because it was foul hooked gave me the best bite and Ive caught decent amount of fish bigger then this one. Hope all of you are catching lots of fish.

Fished the river for from 6-8pm the other day. Tried a variety of lures including white bucktails, sp's in purple, green, and silver, bombers in black and purple, large purple flat rap, and large 6" silver swim shads.
Got a real nice solid hit on the large flat rap, and after several runs on my new lightweight 7ft rod landed a 28" keeper. First fish on that lure that I picked up awhile back when I got for half price from Cabela's. Definitely worth the four bucks.
Switched back to a green sp after awhile and landed another 3 fish in the 22" range. Had lots of fun, can't wait to get out, but with my work schedule it might be a couple days.

Chris's report reminded me about a hit I had Wednesday.

I was throwing that FLR-16 that caught me the keeper on Monday. 1 of 2 hits I had on the FLR-16 Wednesday was a solid hard hit and felt like something big and heavy that wouldn't even move when I set the hook. It spit the hook soon.

Went out to the river, and was I glad I got out of work early and went fishing in the rain instead. I landed a half dozen good fish including this 30" keeper.
This fish fought great on my 7ft lightweight setup, at times I wondered if I was going to ever get him in. It seemed like I couldn't take in any line and my drag was screaming, a good 5 plus minutes later and lots of splashing and thrashing later I finally got her. That felt great! Caught on green sp's. Caught a nice 22" fish on second cast and knew it was going to be good. Also caught a nice fish on my last cast, although I took several last casts. Also caught several good fish in between all on green and purple sp's. Great quality fish in only an hour and a half. All fish seemed heavy. Glad I made it out, I was the only one at the spot.
