I thought there was now a limit cause of the netters taking so many? |

There are currently no fishing restrictions on menhaden. David Simpson of the CT DEEP has indicated that public hearings on possibly enacting daily creel limits (say 50-100 fish per day) would be held this calender year but that has not yet happened. A limit would prevent cast netters from wiping out entire schools of bunker from a given harbor. Simpson is currently working with the ASMFC to reduce the commercial catch of menhaden along the Atlantic seaboard. |

Please use common sense when you take bunker. Only take what you are going to use. |
