So I was fishing at Clarks Pond around 7:30 pm the other night going for some Trout with a Kastmaster. I wasn't getting any hits with my first few casts so I threw it out another time and let it sit for a few seconds before I started reeling in and BAM. I had something on the line that was putting up a heck of a fight. I thought I had a huge trout on the line. after about a 30 second fight, I brought this bad boy to the shore. My first Catfish and a Bullhead at that!

Oh yeah. Their jaws are CRAZY! Luckily, he spit the Kastmaster out as soon as I got it on land! _________________ Going for that trophy fish! |

I've felt those jaws before learning about it. Ever heard the noise they make?
Brown bullheads are fun fish on light setups. I've even hit bullheads while slowly dragging a rubber worm across the bottom. Nightcrawlers on the bottom from June to September with a light or medium light setup is fun. |

This came on a senko and my brother got a monster one with a huge gut today on a senko. When I caught mine I stuck my finger in its mouth and was shocked at the bite force.

Are you trying to best me Flint? Haha nice catch.
Michael, everyone I tell seems shocked when I saw I caught it on a Kastmaster. I guess I got lucky. I'll never know _________________ Going for that trophy fish! |

I caught it on 6 pound test on a light Cabela's gold series combo rod. I currently have 4 pound test on now so should be a little better if I encounter another one. _________________ Going for that trophy fish! |

Another thing about catching brown bullheads is to make sure you weigh any nice ones because there's a very good chance for a new state record from what I've seen in the past few years.
Great Hollow Lake at Wolfe Park holds some monsters. |

I heard this from a few people. Now, I'm kind of disappointed because I might have come close with this fish since I showed a few bait shop owners. Oh well. Hopefully, there will be more _________________ Going for that trophy fish! |
