Hi,

Ryan, I agree with you that you have the right to "agree to disagree" and I will fight for you or anyone to keep that right!

And I have the right to post my opinion to object to reading posts of admitted criminal activities as trespassing and poaching.
And I can strongly assume that many of the members here do not want to read such disgusting posts also.

This forum was formed to help, inform, and promote responsible sportsmanship!
Posting ... admission of... or approval of ... or just don't care of ....disreputable activities is contrary to what this forum tries hard to foster, in my opinion, is very wrong.

I and others have made it known that such posts are extremly distasteful and they only tear down this fine forum of its primary purposes.

Now those that want to publicly admit to or approve of such un-sportmanship conduct only lable themselves for their lack of honesty and intergrity!
And their continued efforts to justify said acts only adds additional proof of their own self-inflicted decite for all to see.

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)

We are all human and make mistakes, including myself (was never born an Angel) yet we should all strive as best as we can to keep to the higher principles that make for an honest person vs a dis-honest person.

So...To those who still think trespassing and poaching is such a hoot -> Well, in my opinion, it's time you stop whinning like a bunch of 5 year olds trying to justify your irrational actions and "Man-up or Woman-up" as the case may be and present yourselves more as good responsible honest sportspersons.

It astounds me the persistant effort these individuals, continue to go thru, to justify their repugnant un-sportsmanship conduct!

This fine forum is here for us all to enjoy, share experiences, and promote ! -> Not tear down with public displays of gutter talk of admitted dis-honesty !

This topic is what I would have seen on CTF, not on CTFT. Left CTF because of this type of talk and joined CTFT because I found it more friendly with good sportsmanship.

Hi Michael,

I left CTF for the same reasons ...posting and bragging about un-sportmanship conduct -> Now it seems to have raised its very ugly head here on CTFT !

Don't need it!......Don't want to read it! ......Don't have to put up with it!

I have the right to voice my opinion and objections to such posted TRASH !

And if others get angry at me for doing so -> Well "Boo Hoo" Exclamation
They need to get with the program ... and foster what this forum is all about, Good, Respectful, Honest Sportsmanship Exclamation Thumbs Up

If I cast toward a dock, catch the dock, reach from the boat (touching the dock) to unhook my lure, would this be considered trespassing or be considered illegal in anyway

I don't think DEEP goes into that much detail in their rules but a law suit brought on by the Candlewood Lake Owners Association a few years back brought DEEP to this ruling. When fishing water governed by DEEP you are allowed to fish to the High Water Mark of the lake. Stepping on or touching the dock would be questionable, but if the dock extends 1000 feet into the water you have the right to fish the water it sits in. Removing a hook for safety's sake I'm sure would not only be acceptable but an honorable thing to do.

As far as fishing Pond X! Growing up in high school a close friend (female) was struck with a golf ball as her father t-d off. Massive brain damage. The golf course was sued and lost.

Private ponds, residential or business can be held responsible financially if you are injured "Even If You Claim You Would Not Sue!"

Most insurance companies require fences to be installed around land owner privately owned ponds. Most don't do it because of the ascetic appearance of the property.

Many of us are respectable people and fisherman. Even those that poach. But how would you feel if you got a court order to appear before a judge because someone trespassed on your property, slipped and fell into the water and remained partially submerged through out the night and you are now being sued to cover the expected cost of life medical expenses of someone you don't even know.

This actually happened in Connecticut and will most likely happen again.

When I started this thread it was just stating a fact. It has gotten far uglier than I ever imagined. It has even gotten where it defined by age. i would say that everyone can do what they want BUT be prepared for the consequences. I have stopped fishing and hunting with friends that did things that I personally disagreed with and that was my choice. People have had personal property taken when arrested and convicted when using them while poaching (hunting or fishing) .
And hopefully this post will die and the discussion has ended.

Choosing a hunting or fishing partner is a difficult process and if you find one or two that last you are very lucky!

Michael,

I wouldn't recomend that as it has had the positive effect of bringing to light, on this forum, what good sportsmanship is vs dis-honest sportmanship.

This thread will die of its own accord once the trespassers and poachers realize that they are, without question, labled with a disreputable reputation, of their own doing.

In acuality this thread has been helpful to all to realize that their fishing ethics/sportmanship are a primary principle that this forum is built on and tries to foster.

This thread will die quickly on its own and get back to normal -> Hard facts and truth will prevail over any distaintful justification the trespassers and poacher try to present!
As you may have noticed -> They have already ceased much of their utterly ridiculous rehtoric as they cannot deny hard facts or the truth !
