I find the holier than thou attitude of some of the members on here more distasteful than the admissions of petty lawbreaking by others. If any member were to claim blind obedience to every law, I'd call them a liar. And a hypocrite.
PTOs point that a few bad apples can spoil the whole bunch for everyone is my biggest problem with fishermen who trespass or fish in posted areas. There are so many places to legally fish in Connecticut that I can't understand why they feel it's necessary.
In the end, however, I recognize that people have the right to make their own choices in life. Besides myself, I'm the boss of only two people, my kids, and even that'll end when each of them reaches 18 years of age.
To the self-righteous: You're not the boss of me, so back off.
To the trespassers: Please don't ruin it for everyone else. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hi,
Well said Phil
That's the whole point of this subject !
It's not a matter of anyone being "holier than thou" but taking a stand and letting their feelings be heard as to what is looked upon as good respectful sportsmanship (and what we all strive to promote) .....and how the public display of bad sportsmanship can ruin everything for all !
This is not petty by any means!
Many of the rules and regulations we sportsman must abide by .... will disagree with -> But it is the law of the land and we should all do our very best to abide by them!
How did you so elequantly put it -> "Without having rules/laws to go by there would be anarchy"

How about we move the thread to where it belongs in the humor sections lol...
No Just kidding
I think we all need to start being respectful to one another especially in the main threads if you want to name call or talk in a condescending tone i guess save it for fun and rude pms!
Maybe I should start a poll "for trespassing" or "against trespassing" _________________

Hi phs,
Don't think a poll is at all necessary -> We all know, right well, how lopsided that will turn out

I could do without the name-calling and condescension in PMs, too, PHS. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter!

LoL as long as you know as I was messing around peco its all "gravy"
many of you have gotten to serious and some even angry so its my time to bring on the jokes even if its at your expense
I hope this thread ends soon, I keep thinking there is a new lake report but, noooooo its just this thread!
The penalty of trespassing can be as little as a fine up to jail time!
Just imagine how many times you will be telling your fish stories to your bunk mate....
I hope I dont "jynx" my self with that last comment! _________________

I knew that you were messing around, PHS!
And I'd like to read more fishing reports and less of whatever this thread has become, too. Michael and I can't be the only ones on here who fish. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

LoL imagine that!
Some of have other things to do besides fish every day yah know!
I have been fishing here and there locally, I just havnt been doing well a few here and there as of late.
I guess I will post reports even if they are short.
I would love to see posts from this week hopefully some near by.
I am thinking the weather might have a negative effect on fishing this week just like POACHERS do on the outlook of shore anglers! =P _________________

Hi Guys!
I totally agree with you!
Think the trespassers and illegale fishers have gotten the message !
Today was way to windy, but I did stop at West Hill around 3:00 PM. and thru a spoon for 1/2 an hour.
Caught 1 Brown Trout about 14 inches and released.
Cold wind finally got to me and left for home and a hot cup of coffee.
Looked at the most recent USGS stream report for Ct.
Not looking good at all.
Only waters marked green (normal) was the Ct. River and the Farmington -> Though that was borderline at the low end in the 25% percentile.
All other streams in western Ct. and also western Mass. marked red (below normal).
Man! We really need some rain!
The stream fish may well be swimming with their backs out of the water come Opening Day.

I even like to read about when, where and how people were unable to catch any fish. Failure is often a better teacher than success. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

After further thought on the matter if any of you have fish tanks I'm coming to fish in them while you are at work. I promise to lock the door on my way out. I will practice catch and release.
Think about this how many of us can say we've caught oscars, guppys, bettas, etc?
Oh and if you leave me the key I'll even take your garbage out as payment. |
