Globe Hollow is the pond at the Manchester public golf course... again, 23,000 different signs and one area no signs... but again, has some great pickeral in it. A couple of years ago I called the golf course for permission to fish from their shores and they told me "they don't know". Now in Hebron, I think, Foote hill pond is right against the road and in front of another golf course. I called them for permission and they said as long as I don't block the driveway.. but between the pond and the road there are "no trespassing" signs. That area might be private but off the road to the entrance of the course there are no signs at all. Some tall grass and you can walk to some rocks that look like "feet" hence, "foote" hill pond.

In Manchester in the Highland park area, there are some small reservoirs that are in the middle of the woods that are fenced and clearly marked no fishing... again middle of nowhere but I respect the signs..but a lot of the fencing area is cut and people have been going in there. I've talked to people who've snuck in there without any issues but knowing my luck I'd get caught so I stay away...

I guess that I'm saying follow the rules or ask permission... ooh..another little pond on lake road near the vernon/bolton rd line looks like a camp of some sort but it is also fenced in.. would like to think there are some good fish in that pond.

Know it alls, if they only had a clue =P

Golf courses can be considered dangerous since most ponds are in a direct line of fire.

I have fished golf courses in the past and as I got older realized how hurt I could have gotten if i got pegged in the face chest etc!

I try to hit local golf courses when they are closed for the night, security / owners dont have a problem with that...

Pm me if you're perfect

Hi Billy,

Yeah! Forgot all about the chems they use on golf courses.

Hmmmmm? Wonder if those chems or combinations of cause the fish to Glow or change shape?

so much road run off gets into many reservoirs anyway, whether it comes straight from the rd into the water or off the rd through streams into a res!!!

to keep on subject

I'd honestly say if you haven't fished a restricted area in your life before you're full of crap. You must all drive 65 in a 65 and not tell any fish stories. Haha

I have to say the responses were kind of what I expected. It dosn't matter if you think a landowner has a valid objection...bottom line it is their land. I hate it when I hear people say well I caught 12 trout today so my average is 5 so thats ok or I have a private land permit for Deer hunting and that gains me access to all surronding lands. If you wonde who owns the land that can easily be found out at local Town Hall. Remember in Connecticut you have to have written permission whether the land is posted or not! We as sportsman must set an example so that the anti's are not provided with examples to use against us. Just a thought to ponder.

That's the main point I took away from my experiences when asking permission from a private landowner to traverse their property. The guy who said, "Yes", and then later said, "No", got mad, not at me, but at people who fished from his property without permission and left trash all over the shoreline.

I'll throw in my 2 cents of why you shouldn't :
1. if people see you going in and out, they assume its ok to access there.
2. private land trapping.
3. I know it sounds a little far fetched but drug factories and growers
4. paintball, airsoft, and other mock combat sports.
5. limited access in emergency situations. If you get hurt and are unable to get out on your own. Fire/ems personnel have to carry equipment in, package/stabilize you and then carry you out. Usually on foot and for the most part by volunteer depts.

On the water supply reservoirs besides the ones above:
1. increased foot traffic destroying vegetation and increasing siltation.
2. people trying to "improve" the habitat.
