I agree, but what brought this up? Did you catch someone fishing in your pond?

There are so many things you are not suppose to do in society. I find fishing a reasonable marked area in the middle of no where not to be a big deal as I could be doing far worse things in life.

I don't see the point in posting a lot of the areas that they do. Either way, thats the law and we need to follow it.

Hmmmmm?

Well poaching is still poaching and No amount of arguments can justify your actions.

Fishing posted property, without permission, is illegale and I'm sure no one on this forum will ever condone your actions,.

Plus -> What a "TERRIBLE" example you are setting for younger members -> Totally BAD sportsmanship -> DISGUSTING Exclamation Shocked Evil or Very Mad

I put poaching in the same catagory as breaking and entering!

+1 to this, I have fished plenty of private ponds by parking on/off street, and walking thru woods to get to them and will continue to do so,more worse things in life if I know a spot has big bass in it, I WILL fish it

Think about it this way, taking fishing out of the equation entirely… If you owned a home would you want complete strangers walking around on your property? I certainly don’t! Just because it’s not near a house doesn’t make it any different (legally or morally) from pitching a lawn chair and hanging out right in some stranger’s backyard. Find out who the owner is and ask for permission if you want to fish there!

Mostly all of them wont hear you out and say no, and I wouldn't care if there was a naturally occuring pond or lake bordering my property and people were in it fishing it, it's not a big deal. . .even if they had to say walk thru woods near my house or yard to get into it

First of all, that is their RIGHT to tell you no… they own the land!

That’s very nice of you, and I’m sure you might not care at first… but maybe one day you go down there and find that people were littering everywhere. Or perhaps you see them leaving your property with a stringer loaded down with 20 nice bass. Or maybe someone slips, falls, breaks an arm and sues you. Guess what… they are on your property, so you are liable. I’m not saying this is how it should be (people should follow the rules, and if you trip and fall it should be your own problem), but unfortunately this is the world we live in.

(I’m also not saying that you personally are a rule breaker or sue-happy… but unfortunately lots of people out there are, and it only takes one - therefore I side with the property owner on this)

If there is access to said body of water via state/town land, then by all means drag your kayak in via that route… that is perfectly legal.

Or if a stream or small river flows into from public land it you can take that as an entrance to the private pond. Laughing

So!

What you 2 are admitting to is that "YOU BOTH ARE" are law breakers, trespassers, and very unethical sportsmen, who have No Integrity or Trustworthyness !

Also the kind of persons that, I'm quite sure, most would rather not associate with or have on this forum setting a "BAD" example to younger fishermen or anyone !

Both of you qualify, "without question", for my ...... "DO NOT TRUST AT ALL LIST" Exclamation Evil or Very Mad

Its actually called trespassing

Many people put their own posts up to keep people away when in reality the area is public.

I know of two places where people have done that!

Depending on the lake pond or res UNLESS its personally owned by those who live on the lake, the property owner only owns so much land to the water.
If the water is low (drought etc) MANY places you can walk around and will NOT be breaking "the law"

I can understand though, if you have a house with little space between ur house and the water OF COURSE you dont want a stranger to be walking in "your" yard.

Hi phs,

What you said could very well be true -> BUT..... that is what a telephone is for.
It's not hard to make a call to the local town office or DEEP to find out who owns the land or water on or near it.

It's a simple thing to find out ...... then go get permission!

IT'S ALSO THE RIGHT AND HONEST THING TO DO Exclamation

Both of these which I do, and will continue to do, if theres a said "private" pond or lake and I find theres a way to get in by state/town/PUBLIC land I will go in.

I never said I am walking thru someones backyard, no reason for everyone to get their panties in a bunch. Technically no-one owns the water.
