Boy was I surprised when this fellow showed up in my favorite trout hole on a white Maribou.

I had a smallie pick up a small white curly tail grub off of the bottom last year. I had been trolling it and stopped to take a white perch off of my other setup. When I picked up the setup with the grub to check it, the smallie took off. Sometimes, slow is just the way to go.

Especially in the river at this time of year although I was not expecting a bass to hit it. I havent hot a bass here since like mid summer.

Well after dropping Michael off I hit my spot and glad I did. Just before leaving I got this fat boy right when a good snow squawl started. Man the river was cruising too!!! Never under estimate the rock you are standing on as right under it I stopped my white maribou just to see it disappear!

I wear a size 10.5 shoe, I had 3 pairs of socks on and Im still swimming in the boots for those waders. I should have measured and weighed that 1!
