Ive been hitting 16" and above trout of all types out of this river in the Naugatuck, Beacon falls, Seymour areas this year. I pull at least 2 nice trout out every time I go there for a few hours. Today was no exception. Pulled an 18" and a 16" Rainbow out today.

Finally I was able to get back here since the river has finally subsided enough but ow the temps have started to effect the fishing. No large trout were biting today b ut I did still get my limit of keepers, nothing to write home about though. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Finally git back to some trout fishing today and pretty much bombed. I got a small one about 9" or so and 3 huge suckers about 21" - 25". I used meal, night, 6 different lures, and also Salmon eggs. Is there a better bait for this time of year I should be using. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

You could try some pinners, or other small shiner, and should be able to get rid of the suckers anyway. Trout fishing the Naugy in Thomaston can get frustrating with worms because of the suckers getting to them first. |

Went again today and missed a nice Brooky which was about 23". I dont remember if I set the hook or not as I wasnt expecting this catch. I actually had a bad cast and was just reeling in to cats again when wham it nailed me and it just kept jumping out and about 3' from shore it jumped again and got off but at least I had a nice view. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Thanks. Never thought it would be a brown on the other end in water moving like that, but what a great fight. I think it took all of 14 seconds to get that first fish....of course it was the last too, lol. |

Went today and saw a lot of footprints in the spot I usually fish, did you try there today Jake? I didnt get any trout today but I did catch the biggest dang Sucker ever. I had 8 lb line on the reel I caught him on and the second I took it out of the water the line broke! This fish was just under 30" long as it didnt fall in the water and I was able to remove the hook from its mouth and set it free. I didnt bother taking a pic of a Sucker though. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....
