Seasoned fisherman but very new ct and i am trying to learn how to fish candle wood lake. Very interested in what types of tackle work well. Interesting man made lake but different depths and drop offs I am used to so a bit confused on whatnto throw out there. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I've never fished it so I was waiting for someone else to respond. It's a bit large for me in my little kayak Sad

At Gerards marina. And can travel any where that's productive.

Get a map of the lake, thats step 1. If you're fishing for bass, the standard bass fare works: senko's, spinners, mepps, top water etc.

Fish islands, drop offs etc. pay attention to depth changes and weed lines, Candlewood is known for its deep weed line which is ideal for SMB.

I've been on Candlewood only once. There's a natural rock wall just to the south of Gerard's Marina that held smallies when I was there.
