You've never fished for stripers at Pickerel Lake? It's simply divine!
The heavyweight rods are what I use when targeting the bottom feeders at night while anchored/on shore during a storm...The best way to get a bite is to cast 2 lines at once...the big rod with nightcrawlers on a lighted slip bobber dropshot rig. I'm comfortable using the heavy pole for Spro-frogging too...at least until the baitcaster catches something over 3 lbs. in thick pads.

It only runs in the low 50's but it does it in scary places.

I've run "negative depth" over exposed gravel bars many times with no ill effects. It will run on a wet sponge, way less than 4". Inboard jets run shallower than outboard jets because the intake is flush to the bottom rather than sticking down below the hull. You have to know the terrain and where to shut down because 1,800 pounds parked on ledge in an inch of water is not cool unless you own a helicopter.

This is my 1999 Cobalt 190 on Candlewood...not my actual boat, but a picture of my exact one
Its not ideal for fishing but it does the job...wish i had a bass boat though
