Went to Howells Pond this morning. I was on the pond from 11:00-1:00. I caught 3 small LMB, all 12-13 inches.
I caught all 3 on the far side of the pond, and all were taken on a black spinnerbait. I also threw wacky Senko's and a jerk bait, but got all my hits on the spinnerbait. Hooked one larger fish, but never got him to the surface before he threw the lure. |

Actively feeding largemouth bass in a 14 acre pond? That's not too bad. I never seem to catch any actively feeding largemouth bass. Smallies and stripers, yes, largies, no.
Were you fishing from shore? _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

No, I was in my Kayak. Had the pond to myself...nice and quiet. I paddled around tossing the lures toward the shoreline. I don't have a depth finder, but there didn't appear to be any significant drop offs. |

No, the maximum depth of Howells Pond is only 8 feet, right off the boat launch toward the middle of the pond. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
