Went to Howells Pond this morning. I was on the pond from 11:00-1:00. I caught 3 small LMB, all 12-13 inches.

I caught all 3 on the far side of the pond, and all were taken on a black spinnerbait. I also threw wacky Senko's and a jerk bait, but got all my hits on the spinnerbait. Hooked one larger fish, but never got him to the surface before he threw the lure.

Actively feeding largemouth bass in a 14 acre pond? That's not too bad. I never seem to catch any actively feeding largemouth bass. Smallies and stripers, yes, largies, no.

Were you fishing from shore?

No, I was in my Kayak. Had the pond to myself...nice and quiet. I paddled around tossing the lures toward the shoreline. I don't have a depth finder, but there didn't appear to be any significant drop offs.

No, the maximum depth of Howells Pond is only 8 feet, right off the boat launch toward the middle of the pond.
