I ended up gettting a few hours free so I tried for some pike on the farmington down stream from Barts. I ended up with one 30 inch fish not bad, but i couldnt get a picture because it was only me and the fish had way to much fight in him to cooperate. He fought really well for the warm and low water conditions. I also had two more strikes and one follow all were decent fish in the 26-30 inch size. All in all for two hours, it was not bad at all. |

Where do you mean by "Lower Farmington River"? And were you throwing lures or live bait? _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Barts is right off 159 in Windsor there is a nice parking lot and launch right there. Were you fishing from shore? |

I've never fished the Farmington River below the Rainbow Dam. I'd guess that the water level and current varies a lot, depending on what's going on at the dam. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hey, troutbum,
I forgot to ask you whether you were fishing from shore or a boat. I'm thinking of checking out that stretch of the Farmington River in my Hobie Pro Angler. I've been checking out the river one stretch at a time and may as well hit the bottom of it. Do you know whether there are any good places to launch either just below Rainbow Dam or near the mouth of the river near the Connecticut River? Have you been the launch at Pleasant Street in Windsor? Thanks.

The best place around there is probably right behind Barts. Maybe we could hit it up on Saturday morning. |

We'll have to get flags for our fishing fleet. Is there a CTFishTalk.com flag? _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hey Peco, I would have to agree with dawg the best place is the launch at Barts. If you are targeting pike though you have to beef up your gear. I would at least run a 40 or so pound leader off your normal set up because they go through braid or light line like butter. |

Ask Sevn (administrator) about those. I know Mark (Just4fun) and I got CTFishtalk decals when we first joined.
