I hear all that. SeaDog possesses some qualities that I admire, and don't see too much out there these days... however:

Courtesy doesn't count, nor is it expected if you are on a jet ski. Those folks are in a class all their own, and the rest of us, should just stay off the water.. especially those of us, who have those fat-hulled boats that make those wakes they like to hit, about 4" from the Merc Logo at 50 MPH.

It is also excused on the ice, if you catch 2 or more fish from the same hole... in those instances, 5 feet is an acceptable distance... hell, help yourself to my bait bucket while you're warming your hands over the auger's muffler .

Im still wondering about that 20 pound trout in West Hill... my carp joke went un-noticed.

Its been over 2 weeks without a cigarette... Bear with me, and my twisted humor... it will pass. or so they tell me.

Shocked COURTESY Confused Apparently as "old " as SD may be he must not get out much for a good "old" fashioned opening day on that 3rd Saturday in April Laughing where the COURTESY is pretty much chucked aside with all the other worm containers, beer cans and empty hook packages that every once a year fisherman buying up all those Walmart fishing poles never to be seen again on a river til next opening day comes Mad Mad I believe the new price of fishing licenses may deter some of those people but lets face it... No matter what the circumstances, elbow to elbow or all by myself I do not get discouraged I will fish and hunt every chance I get. Putting off house/yard work and even WORK and pass on my experiences and knowledge that I've gained to my son and anyone interested in having a good time outdoors. Fishing and hunting is no big secret though there are many tricks of the trade and sweet spots that we protect... it is a numbers game. The more you get out there the more you learn and the greater your chances of bagging that big buck ,that 10" bearded Eastern, 7lb Bass or that day of almost every single cast your setting the hook gets. So although there are more guys out on the ice it is not "your ice" it is our ice and if you chat with these guys you may learn a thing or 2 right or wrong about fishing or better yet teach somebody about being "A COURTIOUS SPORTSMAN" Wink I'm not trying to offend anyone here so HAPPY FISHING!!!

One of the best things about these posts are strings like this one.
