Planned on going to the congamuck, but after a talking to a friend about how great the smallies were eating on candy I decided to give it a shot. We get to the lake and pull up to the first spot, the screen is stacked with fish. I toss out the drop shot and hook up with a 4lb smallie on the first drop of the day. Caught a few more and continued to run and gun trying to find them, but never got into them really good. I decided to go flipping for the last two hours of the day and proceeded to catch some good largemouth including (2) 4lbers and a 3lber. The flipping bite saved the day big time. Best five for the day were 17 and change.

What kind of weed holes do you look for when flippin? Realitively clear lilly patches, or choked up fanwort and crap like that?

Hey, there are some advantages of being a teacher......... Laughing

Bluegill: The grass there this year has not grown very well in alot of places you just need to keep hit and covering water until you get a bite. Then slow down and pick apart that area where the bite came from. They were in the thicker stuff in 7 fow.
