Planned on going to the congamuck, but after a talking to a friend about how great the smallies were eating on candy I decided to give it a shot. We get to the lake and pull up to the first spot, the screen is stacked with fish. I toss out the drop shot and hook up with a 4lb smallie on the first drop of the day. Caught a few more and continued to run and gun trying to find them, but never got into them really good. I decided to go flipping for the last two hours of the day and proceeded to catch some good largemouth including (2) 4lbers and a 3lber. The flipping bite saved the day big time. Best five for the day were 17 and change. |

What kind of weed holes do you look for when flippin? Realitively clear lilly patches, or choked up fanwort and crap like that? |

Hey, there are some advantages of being a teacher.........
Bluegill: The grass there this year has not grown very well in alot of places you just need to keep hit and covering water until you get a bite. Then slow down and pick apart that area where the bite came from. They were in the thicker stuff in 7 fow. |
