got off base and went to First Beach in Newport for a couple hours today and got maybe 7 schoolies while my friend got around 4.

this was the first and biggest fish caught

all were caught on white cocahoe minnows on a 1/8 ounce jighead.

the fishing died though when it became overcast and the temperature dropped.

Nice fish! Not a bad day in the background either. How was the wind?

for Newport it wasn't too bad compared to the way it's been lately. I forgot to mention that that was my first striper ever too

Oh man, now your in trouble. Soon youll be fishing all day for Blues and then all night and morning for stripers, go home and sleep for a few and do it all over again. Before work I typically sneak 1 1/2 hours in as the Housatonic River is right behind where I work.
