Hi,

Spawning Stripers will go as far up the connecticut river as the Bellows Falls Dam in Vt.

If you pop into the FishinFacotry3 in Middletown they can give you some sure fired spring bass spots that get keepers every year.

Tuesday night was hot for a few of my buddies after midnight. One pair caught a total of 15, 5 of which were better than 30" and another pair caught 12 total, 4 of which were 28" or better... all fish were released, they were fishing lures, NO BAIT whatsoever.

Last night I tried 2 of my producing spots with no demise, but everybody else I talked to had the same deal. My theory: its still a bit early, the bass are moving in small pods and covering a lot of water fast, hence why everyone's either killing it, or getting the skunk. So if you stay deliberate, fish one or two spots religiously night to night, you will eventually hook up. My dad always told me, you gotta put the time in!

So for anyone who's here looking for "secret spots" get off your @$$ and find em'. It is 2013, we have GOOGLE EARTH!! And if you think a good spot is on somebody's property don't just sneak thru/on, ASK PERMISSION

Another thing I'm not really a fan of is these guys with surf casters, 5oz of lead, and a flat of bloods just sitting and watching the tip, come on is that really a sport that we call fishing? Go buy some lures, switch up your retrieves and in the end you will thank yourself for learning techniques and catching fish, not letting fish catch themselves... END OF RANT..

Tight Lines Everybody!!!

Ive been catching in the farmington. Been using yozuri crystal minnows with a slow retrieve. Mambo minnow is a winner also. My good friend was nailing them on top water last night. I have a boat so we just troll and drift at .ight. I stop the boat when we see surface action. Cant wait for the schoolies to turn into fat mommies. If i see people use herring it is so sad. You can catch more striper if you just put the time in and throw your lures and use your head.

To me striper is one of the easiest species to target and catch. When they are hungry they will eat just about anything. You dont need to needlessly catch a spawning fish to get a good striper. A 13$ lure is more affordable than a 250$ fine.
