Rome's in Granby carries them. Call first though before you head up there. I'm not sure if they change their hours for the winter season or not. |

Not yet. I'm going to wait until the ice is a whole lot thicker
I've just seen people buying shiners at Rome's before. |

I know you're starting to feel the withdrawal symptoms... _________________ Kira

Oh Boy
Hi All!
I was starting to wonder when the urge to fish would overcome your reluctance to cold and standing on ice

I'm with Phil on this one. I hate the cold and standing in a giant icecube with 22mph wind and 33 deg. temp does not sound fun to me - BUT.......I know that in a month I'm gonna be jonesin' for some fishin action! I think I may give ice fishing a shot this year. I have everything except an auger so mabey I can tag along one day w/ somebody who's got one.
I have another idea, too. I've been doing some research and it seems that there are adapters for hand augers that attach it to a cordless drill. From what I've been reading, you can drill 10-15 6"-8" holes with 1 battery (19v drill). It may be an option considering the adapter only costs about $25. Most drills come w/ a spare batt. so it should be a fine setup for drilling 20-30 holes in 1 outing. Anybody familiar w/ these? _________________ Go big or go home! |

Hi DD!
Have you read my ice fishing posts?
5-6 inches of ice on many ponds and lakes now and building -> Plenty to hold my fat butt up + Early ice fishing is super, before the O2 is depleted and the fish get sluggish
I'll be looking to do some serious Smelt fishing after the 1st of the year just across the border in Mass.
Best regards,
