Hi jon,
OK! Hope to run into you!
Now you have to learn where to drill your holes and at what depth to place your shiners.
Trout -> Are roamers and can be just under the ice or the bottom and from very shallow to deep.
Crappies -> Will suspend over deep water so fish 10-15 down.
Perch & Gills -> 6-20 ft and fish just off the bottom.
Salmon -> Fish in 25 ft. of water and 8-10 ft. down.
Pike -> Shallow water 4-10 ft and on or just off the bottom. (You'll need wire leaders for these toothy critters and keep your hand away from their mouth )
You can Google up lots of "ice fishing tips and techniques" on specific species of fish!
Best regards,

Hi Jon!
NO! I gave all my tip-ups to the Boy Scouts.
Made 2 homemade Slammers that I use shiners on for Trout, Salmon, and Pike.
Use mostly my jigging rods (carry 6 with me -> 4 light and -> 2 heavy as dead sticks which I can use shiners on.)
