Planning on a trip and wonder if spring or fall seems to be the best time for lgmouth bass. Not sure where we"er headed for but would like an area that has more than one lake within a half hour drive. Thanks _________________ Fishermen will change the future. |

Many options in NC for bass. I would say Spring would be your best bet for numbers of bass. Within a 1/2 hrs drive may be tough.
There is Lake Wylie, about 15 minutes north of Charlotte. Lake Norman, a very BIG lake, 40 minutes to an hr North of Charlotte. Lake Wateree in SC, 45 minutes south of Lake Wylie, Fishing Creek Res in SC just to name a few.
Good luck wherever you go.

I've been having good success with a Zoom Speed worm in watermelonseed. Can't foget the jig down here. Bass do go deep on some of the lakes. A 1/2oz football jig works well and a carolina rig.
Keith,
Good luck with your move. I've been down here 8 months and I haven't regreted it for a second. It's nice to take the boat out in Feb. and know I would be icefishing back in CT. The people are great, but they drive fast. Home of Nascar ya know.
Our property tax actually went DOWN! It was reduced to $732 for this yr. Now that's on a brand new 2350sq ft house with a 1.5 acre yard. Try that in CT! _________________ "Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths." - Jimmy D Moore |
