went out the other and 3 of my 6 tipups where hard to spin (spool) what can i use to free them up .. |

depends on what brand they are. most of them have tension setters on them.Its located at the top where the flag sits.find the nut under the T part of the tip-up and adjust that one way or another then adjust the T part down to the nut. that might be the problem.try that |

i know on my tip-ups if you leave them out in the cold over night the grease in the tip-up will freeze up a little. i just spin the spool a few time and it frees it up. |

actually your tip ups get like that because the lube they are filled with does get stiff in the cold weather and if you give them a couple of turns with your fingers, that should do the trick, let me know how you have made out thanks. |
