Decided to head to Black Pond in Woodstock instead of Mashapaug today. Was a perfect day, got on the water at around 3pm and 78*! Started fishing the northern banks and got off the water at dark.
All told I landed 18 bass and lost about 5 trying out different hooks (octopus/offset/variety of sizes). Only problem, ALL of them were under 2lbs, maybe even 1.5lbs. But they were feisty and put up some good fights.
Used - Senko 5" green pumpkin with red flakes and a red octopus hook (1) set up wakie style with an o-ring. Also threw a few black/red split and got one. Black and blue flake didn't do anything (my normal go to).
Seems I always find them small, I'll kill it most days but most of everything is around 1.5-2lbs. Anyone else have this problem with wackie worms? I usually fish the shore and about to 40 feet out.

Hey, James,
You might not have noticed from my fishing reports, but I sometimes fish with wacky-rigged five-inch Senkos. The thing about wacky-rigging is that you'll catch a lot of everything and, occasionally, you'll get a lunker.
I fish for fun. Catching is more fun than not catching, so I like the wacky-rig.
