The only time that I ever paddled the Hockanum, I parked in the lot at the East Hartford Town Hall and carried my kayak down to the river. It was a little bit of a haul over some marshy ground, but not too bad.

I just checked my photos. The only time I was there was on July 9, 2011!
There is (or was) a public hiking trail there, so parking wasn't restricted in any way that I could see.
