Highland Lake in New Hampshire is a large deep lake that is loaded with largemouths, chain pickerel, crappie, and yellow perch. You'll run into plenty 3+ pound largemouths, slab crappie, gator pickerel, and yellows around a pound. |

It's a hike but the princeton maine area of big lake has outstanding smallmouth fishing. It's very isolated so it doesn't get a lot of fishing pressure. I've been going for years and have had multiple 100 fish days between 2 people. Here's a place to stay

China Lake in Vassalboro Maine is killer for good smallmouth. Plus there are a few other good bass lakes in the area as well. Yeah Highland Lake in Stoddard/Washington NH is awesome, right down the road is Island Pond, both lakes have good large and smallmouth populations. We used to camp at Highland Lake campground and hit both places in the weekend. Enjoy |
