|
|
Our last trip was a disappointment, 20lbs braid kept breaking and we lost 9+ fish. We did land a 32 inch monster, 2 inches away from Trophy size.
This time we came prepared with 80lbs braid and it paid off. In total we caught about 12 fish over the weekend. All about 2 feet/10lbs.
First time we caught Mirror Carp (2 actually).
Highlight of the weekend was my son's 2 trophy size carp.
1st was 36 inches and 22 pounds
2nd was 34 inches and 22 pounds
Submitting it to DEP this week.
Enjoy the pics...

I've never seen a mirror carp, very cool fish! Zoar has been fishing well for us this year, hoping it continues through the fall. |

Nice catch ! great to see a mirror come out of there. Just remember that carp are pretty harmless so the Bogas aren't really necessary. Weighing a carp by the mouth can cause a lot of harm to the fish. |

So does hooking them
We don't weigh it them with Bogas, Just to get a good hold on them as they are strong and do get away easily.
We have a tarp and scale to weigh the fish. |

Those are nice looking fish! Big too!. Awesome. I've never fished Zoar before. My children and I would love to check it out. Are there any good shore locations to fish from? |
