Saturday night I looked at the tides and forecast for the honey hole. From what I saw, it looked like my only chance at getting back out there on my own before things change more was Sunday morning, so I stayed up overnight. Low tide was scheduled for 8:15 and arrived around 6:30. A local buddy arrived later.
I was expecting a great morning topwater bite. Water was like glass, tiny little south breeze, lots of fog, partly cloudy. Hardly got into anything.
Threw a variety of topwaters but only got 3 explosions and very few swirls on the orange gold orange XRW-13.
The local landed 2 schoolies up to 24" and lost a nice blue on the jump. He got very few other explosions and swirls too.
Hit the road around 10 |
