overshot amos lake (going up 395), saw the shetucket river and decided to give it a try...
fished from 7-10:30am with plastics on the shoreline, jigs in and around the weeds and a chatterbait tossed in here and there.
with great laydowns, over hanging trees, dropoffs and some early cloud cover, we thought we would do well. we thought wrong, 2 bass and 2 perch. total! and 1 of the perch was bigger than both bass! saw lots of action in the shallow weeds...thinking they were carp.
if you are unfamiliar with this place, watch out for shallows and submerged log (in 7+ fow) upstream from the bridge. glad i was puttering and not cruising since i never saw it.
