Now that I have a second child in the family, I for see having to
get some fishing in, at the wee hours..ie;4 and 5am.

With that said, I am trying to find out if there are gate closings/openings at some of our state parks and other spots.

I am not going to rattle off a bunch of places but I for see hitting the following places when I have time in the earrrrly morning

Scoville
Mamanasco
Little Meadow pond, Middlebury
Black pond, Middlefield

Thanks in advance for any insight

Hey, Pete! One of the soon to be implemented regulations is a closed season on Scoville from the last day of February to the second Saturday in April.

Hey Phil!
Thanks for the heads up.
I will have to be creative with some of my yak outings..and I predict I will be on the water very early in the morning this year.
My biggest fear was getting to a launch and having the gates closed.

I believe Scoville closes at dark. Long Meadow should be no problem outside of maybe PD running your plates. Last I knew all the flood control areas close at dark. Did you consider trying Winnamaug.

I just checked it out online after reading your suggestion.
It looks like a place I should add to the roster.

Thanks

Another lake you should check out is Lake Kenosia.

There's a small dirt parking area over by the Still River bridge on Kenosia Rd and they don't bother you there. Kenosia is a great place to get into spring and early summer crappie and largemouths, esp an evening topwater bite at 1 certain spot.
