Dan1 (aka Dan) and I kayaked from the new boat launch ramp at Riverfront Park in Glastonbury to White Oaks (aka Crow Point Cove) this afternoon. We fished in below to near freezing air and very light snow flurries, but, thankfully, there was little to no wind. Spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits and fluke jigs failed to produce anything at all, so we downshifted and drop-shotted 2-1/2 inch Gulp! Minnows. We ended up with three yellow perch, two black crappie and one white perch.

I just can't end my year of fishing in Connecticut with a yellow perch (I'll end the year down in Florida), so Dan, JJay (aka Jason) and I will hit the lower Housy for stripers, tomorrow.

Nice! Good luck tomorrow. My bud told me to head a little further south than where we were Wed.
