Is fishing for bluefish from shore with lures at night effective? Would I have better chances using bait or stick with lures? _________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work |

Sometimes the bite dies as it gets dark but can pick up again an hour later when it is truly dark. Depends on the tide, among other factors. Probably slow down retrieve a little if you do wait it out and topwater lures and metal will be less effective. CD is right that switching to bait may be the better option, but wait it out and see if you can next time, especially if the tide is still running well. _________________ Herring? |
