Hot day, to rain, to hot sun, to rain.....ect. At any rate, we cruised to the back of the lake to fish the lillies as they were a productive spot for our last trip out there (23 bass/pike/pickerel last time, no bigguns). Once again began to produce immediately. I was on the skunk so far, but the other 2 guys had landed 3 a piece. Decided to tie on a watermelon Horny Toad and rip it across the top of the weeds. Landed 2 small bass and a decent pickerel in 5 casts, then 2 casts later, a 6lb 4oz beauty crushed it! Great fight through the pads and what a way to grab a big CT bass on the top water action. All in all 15 fish in the boat before the t storms shut us down, but well worth the trip for me!

Really nice, Bryan. You gotta love the rain or, at least, the impending rain. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Have the Frog Togg pants on in the pic. It had already hammered rain once at this point, lol. Yeah. The unsettled weather definitely made for a strong bite for a while though. Thanks guys!
Something else that caught us off guard was the DEP waiting for us at the launch to check licenses and boat reg. I've been fishing that lake for 18 years and have never seen them up there before. Must have been having a slow day |

See that Phil! If only I didn't "Birds Nest" that reel! LOL. Nice fish. Only been there once. Didn't fare as well as you guys. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |

This place is the lake you hate to love! 8 trips out of 10 will produce all small fish or nothing at all for me. Those other 2 trips will keep me going back year after year though! Scorpio, definitely hit it up. Fishing the stumps in the back all the way to the lillies can be very rewarding! Thanks guys! |
