During the overnight hours Saturday into Sunday I was having a hard time falling asleep, so I decided to head out around 4am to see if there would be a sunrise and morning bite going on at Seaside. Went with my waders on and this time brought heavier and bigger lures to go with the 8' Aerial Surf/Pursuit II 4000/30 lb Spiderwire Stealth.

First stop was Breezy Point. Casted out there with a chartreuse bone XRW-13 with no luck. Then switched over to a mullet SSP-12 which got a nice explosion and landed a 21" schoolie.

Didn't get anymore swirls or explosions around Breezy Point so next I went over to the sandy flats by the beach as the tide was still going out. Threw those 2 topwaters and also threw a flake purple ghost MXR-15 but nada.

Next stop was the area I caught the 29"er at as the tide was getting closer to dead low. Didn't have any swirls or explosions and didn't see bunker as active out in that area. The water was a bit tough to read anyway due to a steady west wind.

Got over to the ramp to not find much bunker jumping and not get action with the XRW-13 and SSP-12 so I headed over to the Remington sandbar seeing the tide was just starting to turn.

Ran into a Seaside surf casting buddy at the sandbar. He had a 12 footer and 40 pound braid with him while throwing a 3 ounce wooden pencil popper. I only got 1 swirl with the XRW-13 while he got 3 explosions but no hook sets with the pencil popper. I tried throwing a silver mackerel SXR-12 for weakfish but nada.

Last stop was back over to the ramp now that the tide was coming in. Bunker had just started getting very active but an issue was lots of boat traffic. I was 1 of 3 people snagging and livelining bunker but all of us had no takers. One bunker I had out there started running until it came off, which might have meant something was trying to take it.

Headed back Downtown to the terminal around 11:30am.
