Got up at 6 and headed out to a pond a buddy reccomended about 20 miles away.
4-5inches of ice and the action started slow with a few flags resulting in perch stealing shiners.
Kept moving and found a weedbed with largemouth. Waded through some 1-2lbers and a few perch off this spot until I hit a 3lb largie on one of my big wild golden's on a BLEEDING treble ...
Why does it always have to be the far flag?
Open wide.
Tally for the day.
9-largemouth
3-perch
1-slimedart
Missed alot of fish today.
P.s. I was out last tuesday on 3inches of ice. |

Nice job finding the fish nick. If you feel like taking a rookie out with you give me a call. I never been ice fishing. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Nice bass Nick. I can't believe there is safe ice already up in CT. Be careful out there! _________________ "Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths." - Jimmy D Moore |

Harwinton, Torrington, Wolcott, AND Winsted have safe ice. Where you are on the map doesnt matter, its your altitude. I was on 5 1/2inches yesterday. |

Nice job today Nick. was there any size to them or were they the usual scrappers that get to your bait before thye big guys? As far as my location I live in Bristol and I have onlt fished at Werst Hill and Highland lake in this area. Other than that I have fished in Essex on the ice. |
