Arrived at Short Beach just before 7pm Saturday as the tide was going out. There was a 5 to 10 mph west wind and skies were partly cloudy. Setup was an 8' Star Rods Aerial Surf/Pursuit II/30 lb Spiderwire Stealth.
Lures I played wit included pearl grey shiner FLR-10, shad SP-9, pearl grey shiner FLR-16, and chartreuse ghost XRW-9.
For the time I was there, I only got 1 explosion on the XRW-9, 1 hit on the FLR-10, and beat the skunk with a chunky 18"er on the FLR-10.
Saw a fly fisherman land a hickory shad with a chartreuse fly.
Saw some of that small bait jumping out of the water like the time I was on the Housy with member ny to ct. Also saw a few swirls right near near me.
Hit the road around 8:45pm. |
