Friday around noon time on the outgoing I arrived at the same spot Jeff and I hit Thursday, hoping I could get into those fish I lost. I came prepared with my 8 foot Star Rods Aerial Surf/Penn Pursuit II/30 pound Spiderwire Stealth and made sure I also brought my legendary pearl grey shiner FLR-16.

When I arrived there was a steady east wind that got a bit stronger as the afternoon went on and water temps felt 2 or 3 degrees colder than the day before.

Other than the FLR-16, other lures I tried throwing were purpledescent FLR-10, smelt BXM-10, blueback herring LC-12, glass ghost XRW-11, spotted minnow SXR-10, purpledescent BXM-10, and flake purple ghost MXR-15.

It wasn't until dead low got closer I had some hits. 4 came on the FLR-16 and 1 on the MXR-15 while I had 1 schoolie come shooting for the XRW-11 twice and a striper that looked to be in the mid or upper 20s also explode on the XRW-11. I worked the XRW-11 like a pencil popper.

The hits I had on the plugs all seemed to be curious schoolies that weren't into it much compared to the way it has been. Quick hit and tug without setting the hook.

The bait has moved and so have the bass. If you can find the bait the fishing has been just fine
