Well my buddy and I tries some late night Catfishing off the island where the bridge is by the beginning of the park. Using hotdogs and to no avail. need to try chicken livers. From what I heard they go crazy for it. Just wondering if that spot is any good. didn't want to troop into the park any deeper since the park was closed. |

The city closes the park at 8:30pm and doesn't reopen it til bout 5 or 6am.
The best area to catch catfish is upper sections by the marshy pond and the big rock and also where you find lots of ducks and geese cruising around.
One thing you gotta watch out for when fishing that area is turtles taking your bait. If others see you land one they'll be asking you if you're gonna keep it and if they can have it.
Back in the days when Bridgeport was Bridgeport Beardsley Park was open 24/7 |

That was our first plan but the park was closed but that's good to know we were on the right track at first. If its a decent size ill keep it. that's good eating. Thx |

Another thing I better let you know is from Memorial Day til Labor Day you need a park sticker to get in.
The only way you can get a park sticker without having to pay for one is go to the parks & rec dept on Quarry Rd and show them your fishing license saying you want to fish Beardsley Park.
Try not to say too much else or have to show your ID otherwise it'll make things harder for you and easier for them. |

I don't understand that. ....I should be able to fish any waters with my permit. To pay extra to fish park waters is crazy. We all pay taxes and a fishing license should be enough |
