Aloha,
Shoved out in the canoe around 4 oclock. The wind was gusting and blowing me all over the lake so after about an hour of hopeless paddling I wound up grounding by the boat launch (towards the shore with the beach). Trout were hitting top water like crazy from 5-6:30. Caught 4 trout (not sure of types) 2 on a neon grub and a red grub, the other two I caught on a top water rapala (don't know model name) cast near shore, gave it a few twitches and bang, the were on it. I caught two smallies on the same rapala in less than 2 feet of water. I also caught a large sunny with the rapala. I took off around seven as these hawaiian feet were gettin a little too cold. Had a nice cold beer and watched the lake turn to glass. All in all a very nice afternoon fishing. I catch and release fish so they are there waiting for ya'll!

I've never caught smallmouths at Great Hollow, but occasionally hear a report.
Are you sure you didn't catch a largemouth bass or crappie? |

could of very well been a small large mouth.. like I said I'm not too familiar with the species around here so don't mind me

The term we use for the size of the largemouths you caught is "cookie cutter", meaning largemouth bass ranging from chunky 13" 1 pound to 2 1/2 pounds.
Go onto www.ct.gov/deep to look at fish we have inland. Then do plenty of research on Google and here on CTFT.
