I'll be fishing the Housy/Naughy the evening of 4/28. Maybe starting around 7:00 or so. If anyone is interested in meeting up send me a PM.

What would be the best time to fish the housy? And does the tides affect the waters after the dam?

Or you can not catch on any tide. Skunked again, although there were a few fish pulled in while I was there. I was there from 7 to about 10. Rising tide and very cold water and windy as hell. Threw the gauntlet - shads, flukes, bucktails, sluggos, divers, swimmers - in a rainbow of colors. Maybe things will pick up after this crappy weather.

If you are fishing shallow throw a 9" sluggo.
If you are fishing shallow fast water throw a 9" sluggo with a light jig .
if you are fishing deep throw a 9" sluggo with a light jig.
If you are fishing deep fast water throw a 9" sluggo with a heavier jig.
Every time you change your plug a fish may have swam by.

The sluggo worked Crest. I broke the skunk in the Housy. 27.5 incher on a sluggo with a few nice hits afterwards.

I heard that the water was flowing over the Derby Dam, today, and some big girls were caught up there.

I saw a few keepers up there but nothing I would call a big girl. Reports are a lot of larger fish are being brought in from shore further down the river, especially after dark. But, I can't confirm that.

It wasn't quite as bad as a crowded party boat, but almost. Most of the folks practiced common courtesy and seemed to know how to fish in a crowd. The few that tangled often moved on to less crowded sections.
