Probably either a few different rivers, squantz, or a secret hot spot. Not sure depends on weather cause if its windy then Im not paddling around on a lake in a kayak. _________________ YouTube Channel: NorthEastFisherman |

In my past experiences, opening day is always close to a bust. I say close to cause I usually catch one fish. So I may just stay close to home and hit Ball Pond. _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

I'd go with Ball Pond even if it's a nice day. You can always get into largemouths after getting your limit of trout or not having much trout success.
Rainy Opening Day 2010 is when a buddy and I hit Ball and trolled from his canoe. I hit a 3.9 pound rainbow and 2.5 pound brown with a few other average stockies before we got into largemouths. Shad colored SSR-5 was the ticket. |

I prefer going striper fishing on opening day. its not worth trying to squeeze into a little spot and fish shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of other guys in my opinion. but i do know it is tradition for some people and its fun for the kids so i respect that. |

Especially not to catch stocked fish that don't know any better. This stuff should be for the folks with inexperienced kids that want to hook a respectable fish or two IMO. |

I don't find opening day to be enjoyable AT ALL. That's the one day a year I'll make a point not to go fishing on. |

Far, far away from anywhere stocked with trout. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

I remember opening day at several different lakes wall to wall people. It seems everybody is out that day more than any other the rest of the year. I too will just stay home that day. |
