| Costieyaker I am in the planning stages right now. I am looking for good suggestions for places to hold tournaments as that is the hardest part. Things to be considered are is there a tournament there already if so DEEP won't issue a permit, amount of vehicles the parking lot can hold as a lot of times it is one yak per car, is the area conducive to a gathering afterwards and the amount of pleasure boat traffic. Looking for suggestions and input and will start picking dates. |

I appreciate you putting in the effort.
I have only been to a half dozen or so spots but 2 that may foot the bill are:
Bolton Lake and Scoville Reservoir. |

Squantz, lillinonah by the pond brook launch, maybe candlewood (don't do it on weekends, lots of boats), there's probably more. Great idea.

Mase,
After quickly perusing the State boat launch directory, I came up with a few places that have 15 or more parking spots.
There was no other criteria or personal opinion involved in my quick search other that the parking factor and size of the body of water (I assumed no one wanted to yak fish on a 20 acre pond!)
In addition, I have not fished 99 percent of these spots and they are all an hour or more from my house. Therefore there are no personal fav's in this list.
Coventry Lake, Coventry 26 spaces
Long Pond, North Stonington, 25 spaces
Holbrook Pond-Hebron 50 spaces
Glasgo Pond- Griswold 20 spaces
Gardner Lake Salem 52 spaces
Amos Lake Preston 25 spaces
Mono Pond Columbia 15 spaces
Pachaug Pond Griswold 40 spaces |

Down my way is Great Hollow Lake that has a launch for yaks, canoes, and small aluminum vessels. Tons of parking in the area of the launch.
Plenty of lunkers cruising that place, with also the chance for a 3+ pound pickerel and possible state record brown bullhead. |

Bigelow, Holbrook, Lower Bolton, Black Pond, and Scoville Reservoir (bowfin bowfin bowfin.) Wethersfield cove before Memorial Day (May 30.)
I know a night tourney in summer would go over really well. With me especially.
