Last night I checked out the NWS and TWC March outlook and 3 month outlook.
Both are calling for below normal temps with temps being more like January and February as March continues. Temps won't start warming up more like spring until late March and early April, but March and April average temps will be staying around even as Memorial Day gets closer. |

Mild temps in the 40s with mostly sunny and partly cloudy skies down this way Friday through Monday! Winds will be under 10mph.
Boy do I hope these temps and sunshine do a job on the ice down my way |

After fishing the Mill River TMA today, I went to check on the funeral home pond and the pond at Unity Park. I saw 2" still covering the funeral home except in areas where you'd find flow. The pond at Unity Park was still totally covered with 3 or 4".
Word has it Lake Michigan is still 93% covered. First time this time of year since 1976. |

i fished about 8" of ice today close to the shore. I should have gone wild trout fishing with the hatch going on hard , but I caught plenty of fish so i'm in no way complaining. I'm sure after this coming rain I wont be ice fishing this spot without a plank _________________ Trust me. Use waxworms ! |

Ice fishing is all over with at Mondo Ponds now. No more than 2" covering the common ice fishing area and got to see a dog go through that ice while it was chasing waterfowl. Luckily it ended up getting back to shore. |
