John at big wave in Mahopac told me that it's been sloooooow everywhere in putnam/westchester. West branch is the only body of water producing anything and when it does, 12-14" browns. _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

My uncle fished west branch yesterday , skunked.
It's been to slow for me, I ended up taking the quad to candlewood and got skunked there too. I have better luck jigging on my girlfriends lake on Peach.
You have to question with all the hatchery issues in NY because of lack of funding the amount of trout going in. I know we catch a big brown from time to time but we should have stockers jumping on like years past .
FYI on getting bait in NY, Candlwood bait and tackle in Danbury has the same tested DEC approved bait for 4.50 a dozen for med. The cross river shop wanted 12 bucks for the same bait and blue wave 8 bucks. They all get it from the same supplier so not sure why the high prices |

High prices cause it's New York! One of my customers told me today that there are sturgeon in Ice Pond in brewster! Small 50 acre pond. That would be tremendous to catch one of those. They were stocked in the 60's by some white supremest group. _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |
