any report on mt tom ice want to go there for my b-day tomorrow but not sure if there is safe ice

Hard Water fishermen:
Sunday Mt Tom Had good ice visually as I passed saw ATV's on the lake as well as too many guys.As usual "a tough place to fish" also said" Gropple Man".
Apparently 5 " off the beach was reported by another spotter.
Waurmaug sported a full frozen lake surface ,upper state park area good 5"
and 3" as you proceed almost to the main lake.
Many fishermen, all spread out nice ,good weather,and good action when the front showed up from noon-to 2pm.Left at 3.
4-6" 0f powder on the ice surface.
The lakes will be slick after this rain action and freeze up. Remember corkers or put hex heads in you boot soles. (3/8"long max in thick part of sole). Also we may fish places this year that we could not before.
Check in front of you, always fish another morning.

thank you for the info barracuda haven't had a chance to get up there to check. sounds like i am fishing on my b-day this year . and yes fishfinder that was a hell of a guitar to play went down river about 60 yards before i could turn him back. best single run a fish ever gave me yet .
